Scary elections
Is there anything more fundamentally scared than a fascist? Hardly. But their cynical fear and loathing of curiosity, uncertainty and diversity makes them even scarier to idealistic people who find themselves for one reason or another on the fringes of what is all-too-casually known as “normal society.” And this is the uptight state of American culture in which we find ourselves amid the wake of another Most Important Election of Our Lifetimes.
Proud Boys, Moms for Liberty, Oath Keepers, Patriot Front, Republicans. Too many people are so scared of other people that they need other people to be afraid of them in order to feel secure themselves.
What is so scary about “wokeness”?
Because whatever it is, it seems to deeply scare the shit out of certain segments of either liberal or conservative camps. “Wokeness” chased Trump administration Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard out of the Democratic Party only two years since running for the party’s nomination for president, tweeting that it had become “an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness.”
