That Scary Election
While there is hardly anything more fearful than a fascist, their fear and loathing of curiosity, novelty and diversity makes them even scarier to people who find themselves for one reason or another at or beyond the fringes of what is all-too-casually known as normal society. And this is the state of American culture at which we had found ourselves in yet another Most Important Election of Our Lifetime.
Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, Q-Anon, Patriot Front, Republicans. Too many people are so scared of other people that they need other people to be afraid of them in order to feel secure themselves.
When the public loses faith in its civil institutions, monsters run amok. America First Foundation leader and host of “America First” streaming show Nick Fuentes offered his perspective on what we know about the recent midterm elections, of which many races remain unresolved. “We are in the minority. There are not as many of us as there are of them. If they all had to vote, if you forced every man and woman in America to vote, there would be more of them than us by a lot. That’s why they win the popular vote. That’s why they win the House. That’s why it is the way it is. And I hate to burst anybody’s bubble, but there is simply no evidence that there is a silent majority. There is no evidence of this. There are too many non-white people in the country, frankly, for that to be the case.”
