(A Poem)

Lying on the couch with a fucked up back at 4 in the morning,
Listening to the local jazz radio station’s overnight free format,
Over the air

Frequencies and amplitudes modulated and begat radical cultural shifts — Now rock and roll will never die;
There is no racism here. No fascism. No troops massed on any border. No borders at all, really.

Just the likes of Sonny Rollins and Wes Montgomery,
Promoting the general welfare;
Lee Morgan and Miles Davis,
Establishing justice;
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention and Billy Cobham,
Securing the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity;
A most perfect union
